The President
Douni Sotiria
- • exercises general supervision over the jurisdictional, audit, and advisory functions of the Court of Audit;
- • chairs the sessions and deliberations of the Court’s Plenum, which he or she may convene whenever deemed necessary, in order for it to decide on matters of serious or general interest;
- • presides over the Εighth Chamber and may preside over any other judicial Chamber;
- • presents, annually, to Parliament the Court’s Annual Audit Programme, delivers the Annual Report of findings, conclusions and recommendations to the President of Parliament and may also present to Parliament any other reports of the Court of Audit, as provided for in the former’s Rules of Procedure;
- • acts as Judge-Rapporteur in cases he or she deems appropriate;
- • sets up working groups composed of judges to address major organisational issues;
- • assigns specific duties to judicial employees or relocates them, following the opinion of the competent General Coordinator, when deemed necessary for the needs of the service; upon his or her proposal, the Minister of Justice issues a decision on the allocation of judicial employees’ statutory posts between the central and regional services of the Court of Audit; the President may also request that employees or associates of public services or bodies with specialised expertise be seconded to the Court for the conduct of audits requiring specific technical knowledge and experience;
- • may issue recommendations and instructions to judicial employees for the effective exercise of the Court’s audit and administrative functions;
- • may order disciplinary proceedings against judicial employees of the Court of Audit.
