He was born in Nafplion in 1831, studied law and became involved in politics. He was elected Member of Parliament for Triphylia in the 2nd National Assembly from 4/27/1862 to 1/6/1863 when his election was annulled. He was re-elected on 6/3/1864 and sworn in again as a Member of Parliament for Trifilia. Subsequently, he was re-elected Member of Parliament for Triphylia in all Parliaments from 1865 to 1886, Messinia from 1887 to 1892 and Triphylia from 1895 until his death in 1898.He was Prime Minister from 3/5/1893 to 30/10/1893, Speaker of Parliament during the same period, Minister of Finance in the Governments of Kon. Kanari (1864-1865), Al. Koumoundourou (1865), Beniz. Rufus (1865-1866) and Alex. Koumoundourou (1870-1871), (1875-1877) and from (1880-1881) and Minister of Justice (1880-1881). Appointed President of the Auditing Court with B.D. 16/3/1865 which was slowly published in the Official Gazette A 30/4-19-1865. By the same decree, the President of the Audit Court N. was relieved of his duties at the same time. Silivergos. He remained appointed President until 4/5/1865, when by decree of the same date (Government Gazette A 30) his resignation was accepted. The next day with N.D. of 5/5/1865 (Government Gazette A 30), Georgios Tissamenos was appointed President of the Court of Auditors for the second time. Sotirios Sotiropoulos died on 6/5/1898.
