He was born in 1945 in Preveza. Graduated from the Law School of the University of Athens. During the years 1968-1972 he was a practicing Lawyer and Lawyer of Athens. In 1972 he was appointed a salaried Paredros at the Court of First Instance of Ioannina and in 1974 a Judge of First Instance. He served in the Courts of First Instance of Drama, Corfu and Athens. He was promoted to President of First Instance in 1987 and assigned to the First Instance Court of Kalamata.In 1992 he was promoted to Appellant and served at the Courts of Appeal of Larissa, Nafplio and Piraeus. In 1995 he was appointed Advisor to the Court of Auditors, in 2001 he was promoted to Vice President of the Court of Auditors and in 2006 he was promoted to President of the Court of Auditors. He served as the President of the Court of Auditors from 9/8/2006 to 9/8/2010. He was Mayor of Drama (1974-1975), Special Investigator of Athens (1982-1985) and Deputy Director of the National School of Judges (1996-2000). He taught in the same Faculty a) in the Departments of Administrative Justice the course of Financial Law (1996-2000) and b) in the 1st Department of Civil Justice the course of Special Criminal Law (2001-2002) and the course of Administrative Law (2001) -2003). He also served as Chairman of the Liquidation Board of the "Organization of the Cultural Capital of Europe Thessaloniki 1997" from 1998 to 2001, a member of the Central Legislative Committee (1982-1988) and Chairman of the Three-member Audit Committee of the company "Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games ATHENS 2004 S.A. » (2004-2007). On 3/10/2006 he was awarded the Medal of the City of Athens by the Municipality of Athens, on 22/11/2006 he was declared an Honorary Citizen of Drama and on 25/4/2007 he was awarded the Office of the Grand Vicar by the Patriarchate of Alexandria. Also on 12/10/2007 he was declared an Honorary Doctor of the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Piraeus, on 5/2/2008 he was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Phoenix by the President of the Hellenic Republic,on 15/6/2008 he was awarded the Office of Lord Protonotary by the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople and on 9/6/2009 he was declared an Honorary Doctor of Law of the Department of Public Administration of the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. From 1/7/2009 to 9/8/2010 he was President of the Board of Directors of the National School of Judicial Officers. He happens to be a member of the Association of Greek Lawyers, the Society of Administrative Studies and the Philological Association "PARNASSOS". On 27/12/2012 he was elected President of the Board of Management of Panteion University, where he served until 4/8/2017. He is married and the father of two children and lives in Athens.
