He was born in Nafplio on 23/7/1933. He is a graduate of the School of Law, Economics and Political Sciences of the University of Athens. In 1960 he was appointed a Lawyer, in 1962 he entered the Judiciary as a Salaried Counsel and in 1964 he was appointed First Judge. He was promoted in the year 1975, to President of First Instance and in the year 1978 to the rank of Appellate. He was then transferred to the Court of Auditors, in 1984, as an Advisor, and in 1992 he was promoted to Vice-President and, from 1/1/1993 to 30/6/2000, he exercised the duties of the President of the Supreme Fiscal Court of the Court of Auditors upon promotion Conference.He was President of the Board of Directors of the National Gallery for many years and today he is its President again. He is Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Museum of the City of Athens (Vourou-Eutaxia), the Cultural Foundation of the Ionian Bank, ALPHA BANK and the Zappeion Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the "Errikos Dunan" Hospital and has been assigned the duties of Secretary General. He has been honored with the office of "Archon Megas Nomophilax" of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and, by the President of the Hellenic Republic, with the Grand Cross of the Order of the Phoenix. He contributed decisively to the establishment and operation of the Branch of the National Gallery in Nafplio (where works from the struggle of the Greeks for the Independence of Greece are exhibited). During his Presidency of the Court of Auditors, he arranged, in collaboration with the then Minister of Justice, for the finding and purchase of the building, which today houses the Fiscal Court, at the intersection of Vournazou and Tsocha streets in Athens. He is conversant in English and French and lives in Athens, currently managing the internal audit of the Organization for the Promotion of Greek Culture.
